Murders/ killings/ homicides in 2008- How many in your area?

Okay so I was just watching the news (Action New Channel Six- Delaware Valley) and they stated that Camden, New Jersey has just had its 13th killing of the year this morning. Do you live in a high crime rate area? If so how many homicides have occured thus far in your area and what precautions, if any, do you find yourself taking to stay safe that you feel you wouldn't have to take if you lived in a different area with a lower crime rate?

Well as far as i know.. in jacksonville nc.. we have one wich was marie lauderbach (since the first of the year anyway). what i do to stay safe. dont mess with any marine out here in this town LMAO i know that sounds bad but i really dont mean it to be i know that there not all dangerous. but i hear storys, and id just rather be safe then sorry u know.. i tihnk no matter were u live ur ganna have crime. and you should always think about who you do and do not talk to...

I'm not quite sure, but I am positive we haven't had that many yet. Although, I guess it would be per capita. So ours may be just as high in relation to the population. Either way it's kind of sad.
