Yeah, the Dragon Warrior games were good. I remeber when Nintendo was giving away a free copy of DW with a subscription to Nintendo Power...Those were the days.
I preferred the FF series to DW. To each his own. :)

FF and MM were great games. I still have my Final Fantasy cartridge. FF was one of the most vast games for the NES. I managed to finish FF, but if you don't spend enough time gaining experience and levels, some areas will be impossible to clear. You definately need to devote hours to FF too.

Wow...there were a lot of tough games on the NES. Aside from what you mentioned, I'd add Gradius and Battletoads to that list. I agree that Castlevania is a tough game. I've been playing that on the VC and it's fun and frustrating. And to think, once you beat it, there's a harder mode!

I remeber Battletoads. A great game to play in two-player mode.

True. I had a good partner. We were both well practiced. We came pretty close to finishing the game together. Closer than I was able to get alone.

I have only played Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) in the Super Mario All-Stars game-pak for SNES. If I remeber correctly it was called Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. It's just not the same game with the save feature. Ninja Gaiden 1, 2 & 3 were great games. Contra was another great two player game. Beating Contra single-player without cheats was definately a difficult task. I'm sure that many gamers have used the trusty up, up, down, down, left, right, left right, b, a, b, a, start.
