Do you A) answer just to answer a question or B)do you answer because you are actually intrested in the question C) actually have knowledge about the question? Just wondering. I know for me I read a lot of questions then don't answer them becuase A) some one has already said what I would have or B) I don't have an answer.

Hey there, ebsharer! Great question. For me, I like to answer questions or enter into discussion topics that I am really interested in. (or obsessed with, like GH, lol) I find that way the words flow a little bit more easily than something I am not interested in or have no idea what they are talking about, or don't just have an answer for. I also read alot of dicussion topics and do not answer. because it doesn't interest me, or something is said that is against the guidelines and may be deleted. Even if the person has alot of answers to their questions, sometimes I still answer, just to let them know I was interested and support their views. Thanks for asking, it really makes you think!

Its very true. Some times I write my response and think wow I didn't get out what I wanted to say. You always seem to type exactly what you would say. I'm just not there yet ... might be an age thing. I am pretty young lol.

well as most have answered, it usually is because of b or c. don't worry. you aren't the only one to read topic discussions and then not respond because you're not interested. that's natural. i do that too. first off, if the topic is interesting, i'm sure most would want to contribute in it and share their views and experiences. i would but of course again as many have said, if it's basically the same answer as others and i don't have anything new to add, then i wouldn't. also, we would contribute since we have some idea about the topic. i would definitely be more for this as it makes me feel important you could say, grins, when i am actually able to help someone out. it also helps that i want to share my experiences or views. basically i wouldn't just answer a question as i wouldn't have anything to say in the first place on a topic that i'm not too sure of. even if i do, it'd only be a few sentences and nothing contributive from me.

I agree that if you don't really have any thing to say then your response will be short and not worth "the money" since it seems like thats why a lot of people are here. I don't see how pennies a day helps but to each there own.

On discussions I don't answer just to answer and get paid for it. I only answer ones that I can somehow relate to. Or something that I have experienced in my life. Or if I have some knowledge on the subject.

I would have to say b and c. I like to answer questions that I am interested in and that I have a lot of knowledge about. I do not see the point in answering questions about topics that I know nothing about. After I answer questions that i am interested in I like to read what everyone else has said to the question too, to gain extra information.

I like to read other answers too. Not every one has the same opinion and I love that its ok on this site not to have the same opinion as some one else.

hello, advance happy valentines day^_^ its both B and C. if it interest me, i will surely respond.. if not, i do ignore it, probably read it but wont bother to type anything. if i do have the knowledge as well, its a very good reason to respond, since you have the idea and the wisdom why not share it.. it will never be A, because if i do that, i might be out of mylot forever, i wouldnt want to interact without a sense, or without the urge to answer.. i dont like to do it for the heck. take care ebsharer^_^

Happy Valentines day to you too! I read so many that I don't answer. I thought I was the only one to read some thing then not answer it. It just seems like I will see a question heading and think I would like to respond then find out after reading it it is of no intrest to me.

It is fun to see my posting number going up lol. Normally I don’t read others’ answers if the question is really interesting and I have knowledge about it. I am afraid that I might be influenced by them. I read others’ responses if I totally don’t have any idea about the topic. By doing this I could learn something new but definitely I don’t answer it.

i answer when i really like the question and also think i can answer something to the samer. Just like to this discussion. i think i can clearly state my view here. its never just to answer a question and increase the number.many times i also see something, do not get some answer to do and leave taht discussion.

Always B and sometimes C (don't want to say often C as it may appear that I am conceited :) ) I reply to discussions because I am interested in the topic for either what I know about it or what I am learning about it. I suppose it happens occasionally that A. happens out of desperation - but I am not good at that sort of thing.

I really try not to answer just to answer because I read the question but I can say some times I look for an easy question to answer. I have the obsession with answering 5 questions each time I sign into mylot.

If I don't know the answer, no I don't answer, and like you said, if I do know but someone else has already said it, I don't think it bears repeating.

As some one who is starting to open discussion I really like responders like you that answer the question because they know the answer not just to say some thing. I asked a question about family guy and i got an answer that said i dont watch it ... whats the point in that?!

I read many questions, but answer only a few. 1.If the question is of my interest, then I reply for such posts. 2. If I think that I know the solution/answer to the post, then I go ahead and respond to the questions.

If I don't have anything to contribute in regards to a question then I usually don't answer it unless I want to offer some sort of message of support or understanding. If I have absolutely no interest in a question then I will not answer it. I do really have an interest in any questions that I reply to.

I think I answer questions because of B and C. I don't answer questions just to answer them. A lot of times a read a question and want to see what others have posted about it. If someone has already said what I wanted to say then I will elaborate on it or try to bring a new view to it. And if I don't have an answer then most times i don't try to answer.
