Mixed messages about paypal and all those ptcs and gpts!

I've been hearing a lot throughout the mylot community in their posts that they seem to think that Paypal is almost "severing" you could say the connection between them and PTC sites, and I want to know what your guys thoughts are on this? I think that they aren't "severing" necessarily, but becoming more aware that a lot of PTC's and GPT's are actually scams, and have a "code" almost in the way they determine which are official and which aren't. That, and they have been around forever and they're a site I can trust as my family members have been using them for years, this is actually my first year using paypal but I know from all the past, and the fact that Ebay uses it, and just about every other big site that they have to be legit and as long as there are legit PTC's it's not like paypal would sever any connection between them, right?
