You need to go back to the only reason anyone would have to start one. They take fractions of a cent in profit because they can multiply it by thousands of members and get it on both ends.

If you want to make money on PTR, start one! But you better make sure you know how to get a couple thousand members without it costing a fortune.

If you really want to make money, get into something that's leveraged in YOUR favor, not the owners. Yes you will have to get your credit card out, but go down to Walgreen and get a Visa Gift Card so you can limit your risk. Or better yet, open a free checking account and keep a limited amount in there and get a free debit card to go with it. I do that for all my Internet payments and receipts.
