Importance of a "Prestigious" school

I go to UC Riverside, which though part of the esteemed University of California system is considered subpar as far as colleges go. Many people may be in the same boat... Maybe you didn't get into the Harvard or Princeton of your or your parents' dream, maybe the price is holding you back, or maybe there is something special about the school you are attending despite the overall low prestige of the school. Is attending one of these schools (the ones not it the top ten) such a bad thing? What are the pros and the cons? What is great about your "unprestigious" school. I know I love mine!

Hello,I am a fans of Princeton.
I didn't try my best in the high school and was matriculated by Bupt rather than Pku.Pku is the best school in our country while Bupt was far more behind it.After being sad for a few days,I stir myself.
I think a prestigious school may offer you more challenges and chances, but if you don't grasp it with your efforts,it will be gone.Maybe there is less chance in bupt,I will treasure every chance. So I will do my best, every now and then .
