I use to like writing in a journal/diary everyday when I was about 13 years old. I thought it would be great to look back on it 10,20 years later and see what life was like back then in my teenage years. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with diaries, my stepdad, photocopied it on time, every page. All my secrets were revealed, I was humiliated. I felt violated and embarassed that he had read my inner most thoughts. So now I am not gain to write a diary as I do not want to risk anyone finding it. It's a shame because writing can be a good release of emotions if upset, it can also be great to look back upon. AS I find today I cannot remember a lot of my childhood as I would have liked to. How about you, do you write a diary today or did you when you were younger? Have you had any bad experiences with nosy people reading your diary? What do you like most about diary writing?

I have been keeping a journal for about 8 years now. I never write in it regularly, but it is like you said a great release for your emotions.
