How do I ask someone to add me to their friends list?

I have looked at the friends section and people ask me to add them to my friends list. I checked the menu items for friends but it only mentions adding friends to my list not how I can ask someone else to add me to their friends list.
How do I ask someone to be added to their listing?

By asking someone to be your friend, you are also asking to be their friend. When you accept a friend request, you are added to each other's friend lists. Does that make sense? Welcome to mylot and good luck. Happy posting!
