Ebay boycott.   

I haven't been notified of any such boycott but I did just get an email from eBay telling me they were LOWERING their prices on final value fees and giving free upgrade features like gallery.

But if there is a boycott I am participating only because I have nothing left to sell until I go back up in my attic next month. lol

Interesting, I really don't use ebay, I buy cash on site, I was thinking about using ebay at sometime but then I found out they charge money for you to post. I am not so sure how fair that is, it is like paypal taking out a fee. However I understand you must pay for services but sometime they want you to pay too much.

I heard about it - I am not a seller anymore - i had my ebay acct hacked into so I had to get a new username...

After all this - i will never sell again, I think it is stupid.

I haven't heard of a boycott and since you heard about it on myspace, it's probably just a rumor that's being spread around and copy and pasted onto bulletins. Most of those things you see on there aren't really true. But sometimes they are. I got an email from ebay saying they were LOWERING their seller fees which I personally thought was a good thing. The old fees just stacked up way too high and it got to the point that I didn't want to sell anything on ebay if it wasn't going to make me at least fifty bucks because it's just not very profitable after all of the effort. Oh well. There really isn't much you can do I guess. Hopefully ebay will see the error of their ways and make things better for their users!

I have never heard of this till now. I just listed a few handbags. But girl I was so shocked to see that one of the largest koolaid purse sellers are gone. I mean she is no where to be found. We have been there for so long. I am hoping it gets better soon. I have to use them for the traffic. I am listing else where and plan to send flyers to ebay customers.

I am boycotting Ebay this week in respect of it.
I used to do alot of selling on ebay but the fees eat you alive.
Now, they have increased their final value fees but marketed the changes as a fee decrease.
They slightly decreased listing fees but snuck in the back door and raised the final value fees...substantially.
They do business dirty, in my book.
Not upfront about it.
Very deceptive the way it was marketed.

I just read your other responses. Ebay had better watch out if they want to stay in business. I have bought and sold on ebay. I really wanted to make a living on ebay. Its near impossible these days to get your foot in the door. As sellers our reputation is everything, we do our best to provide excellent customer service. Some buyers will leave negative just to be rotten, thats not fair. This boycott might really hurt ebay. I did get a notice that they were lowering some of the fees, but then raising some others. they have made so much money, they need to quit being so greedy. Greed will put them out of business. There are other places that you can sell stuff, people will go over to those sites and then what is ebay going to do.

Greedbay has done a LOT of horrible things this time around. All under the hoes that no one will notice their sneaky, underhanded business practices. I am a FOrMER greedyfeepay seller.

I started my boycott as soon as I heard about the changes they were making.

I have since started selling on Loudfrog.com It is not an auction site, it is a store site. BUT it is free, the ONLY fee is a 1% final value fee no matter how much you sell it for. Loudfrog is getting increased traffic, my store has had 500 visitors since I opened it at the beginning of FEB 08. There are MANY ex-feebay sellers on Loudfrog.

I have heard about the boycott/strike which is going on as we speak with is crazy but everyone has their right. I am not in the strike. There are so many changes that we can't run from them all. lol

I've been hearing little bits and pcs of whats goin on at Ebay and all the negative responses its getting but I'm not really up on the whole story...Ebay has raised their Sellers fees and changed how feedback works? When did this happen?? Is the change really that drastic?? It must be for ppl to be boycotting I guess....
