Today, the 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival because the first Lunar momth is called yuan-month and in the ancient times people called night Xiao. The 15th day is the first night to see a full moon. So the day is also called Yuan Xiao Fetival in China. According to the Chinese tradition, at the very behinning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, people will try to solve the puzzles on the laterns and eat yuan xiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere. But I have already enjoyed the yuan xiao last night!:)

Hi, I am very glad to knw you. Actually, the most important festival in China is the Spring Festival, to the Chinese people it is as important as the Christmas to the west. And there are so many Chinese traditional cultures such as Dragon Boat Festival, Double Seventh Festival(which also known as Chinese valentine's Day coming from a really romantic love story),Mid-Autumn Festival, etc. We celebrated these festivals in different ways. I believe you will be very interested in Chinese culture if you know more and more about it. Thank you very much for your response and sincerely wish we can be good friends here!*_*
