Profile Page Changes...  |

 We have made a handful of changes to your profile pages today. Based upon your feedback, we learned that users who didn’t spend a lot of time customizing their profile really enjoyed the new layout, but users who did make a lot of customizations really needed much more flexibility.
So here is a summary of today’s changes…
1) The activity sortie will still appear on your profile by default, but you can now move this sortie, or even completely delete it from your profile page.
2) The activity sortie will continue to only display the last 10 actions of a user. To see the rest of a user’s actions, you will need to follow the “my activity” on the left-hand side of their profile, if you have access to it.
3) The “my activity” link on the left-side of your profile will not be visible to users who are not your friends.
4) If a user initiates a friend request with you, you will be able to see the “my activity” link on the left-side of his or her profile. This will allow you the opportunity to easily and quickly learn more about your pending friend’s activities on myLot and decide whether or not to accept his or her friendship. The user will NOT be able to see your “my activity” link until you accept their friend request. However, the user WILL be able to see your activity sortie unless you have removed it from your profile.
5) You can now remove your list of friends and list of interests from your main profile page by going into edit mode and choosing to remove them.
6) We have removed the top header of the page (myLot logo, search box, navigation, etc.) and revamped the extreme left-sidebar to remove a lot of the clutter and include the navigation removed from the header.
I think that covers it! In retrospect, we should’ve built-in the added flexibility into the original release. At any rate, this is the first of a handful of planned upgrades, so keep your eyes peeled for more excitement in the coming weeks and months!

It REALLY ruins the look of the site with an ad after EVERY comment. Too many ads- clearly their main concern is money.

I don't think they will remove the ads, however, I will tolerate them if they help us earn a bit more money as well....
I find all the ads a bit tacky, but yes mylot is not just here for us to be a messaging forum, but to also make money, and I have noticed it slowing down posting and responding and loading pages, however, I tend to think that hopefully they will up their server bandwidth and it will be back on track soon enough.
I'd like to see more earning days like yesterday, which was well over 2.00, I haven't seen earnings like that since I first joined.

| JJ4Ever (700) | 2 years ago |  I agree with you, Mooch. I saw my earnings shoot up a lot quicker since yesterday because of the updates that were made to myLot yesterday, I'm assuming. If it causes us to earn more, I don't mind the advertisements at the bottom of each comment. I've already gotten used to overlooking them anyway. If it helps us earn more, I think we can learn to look past it.

| akuseru (1854) | 2 years ago |  I remember an update quite a while ago where myLot did a similar thing and put eBay ad modules on every other response on a discussion. It didn't last long, for whatever reason, so maybe these won't stay around either. I thought the constantly flashing Tribal Fusion ad that showed up on the homepage whenever I wasn't logged in was annoying, but these aren't all that bad. At least it hasn't added popups to the site--I'd quit spending time here if that happened.

but i kinda didn't like where you put the myLot logo and the advertisement. its not a problem for me if the logo is on the header. but i do mind seeing the advertisement on top and on the left side. maybe it would look better if its on the right side. i just don't like seeing it on top everytime and on the left side of my profile and home page. it is such a litter. if its on the right side i can just leave it alone.^__^
