How to make cream / whipped cream

My wife is trying to make banoffi pie and needs whipped cream heavy cream. I may sound like a dunce - but all I have is milk etc . I cant find any cream/ whipped cream in the market here. Can any of you gimme some basic way of making whipped cream? Thanks
