Ipod wont turn on...  | |  I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me with their ipod. Sometimes when i leave my ipod it my car when its really cold out for long periods of time, like when i go to work, school, or just go to the store, it wont turn on. It happens all the time. I ususally just sit on it for a while until it warms up and then it works just fine.

I often leave my shuffle in my gym bag in the car but it works just fine the next day. If you have the iPod classic they use a different drive to that of the shuffle so maybe it's more sensitive to extreme temperatures.

| | 2.  CheshireKat (501) | 2 years ago |  Yeah, it's because batteries don't function very well when they get cold. Your best bet would be to take it inside with you, stick it in your pocket, even a jacket pocket, put it in your bag... Leaving it in the car when it's cold isn't good for it.
At least, I wouldn't think it's good for it.
It's not good for any other electronic device to be exposed to temperature extremes, so I'd think that an ipod wouldn't be any different.
