In September 2007 I realized my car was finished! I don't have the best credit so a friend of mine was my co-signer. I wasn't able to get the vehical I wanted because it was out of my pricerange due to my percentage rate. From the minute we got there to look at vehicals, we had a beautiful truck picked out and we test drove a few but nothing was like this one we wanted, but the dealer had us thinking we were going to get that truck I wanted. We waited for 8 hrs for them to tell us it was unapproved and we would have to go with something more in our budget. We ended up doing a quick pick and ended up with an okay SUV a GMC Jimmy 2003 SLS. We thought it may not be the vehical we wanted in the first place but it was way better than what we were dealing with prior to this. So within two hours they sold me this SUV. Two months later.... My tranny fluid started leaking out everywhere! We took it to a good friend of ours who happened to have his own garage. He told us that our tranny coolant line was going and gave us a whole case of tranny fluid to get home and back to the dealership, to get this fixed immediately. In 2 days I had to add 8 bottles of tranny fluid to get from point A - point B. That was from the garage about 45 mins from my house to the dealership. So when I absolutely knew what was wrong with my truck, I called my brother whom is very mouthy and very intimidating to businesses and asked him for some advice on what to say to this place. Everything he told me to say, helped me successfully get a $800 job done for free. When I asked the owner of the dealership what kind of vehical he sold me and that I thought he was taking advantage of me b/c I was a woman, he told me to bring the vehical in and they would take a look at it and then I told him that if I brought it in and there was something seriously wrong with it, then I would need something else to drive in the meantime. He said maybe we could find a whole new other vehical for me to buy. Suprised, I added another 4 litres of tranny fluid and went on my way. Finally I arrive there, and they got it into the garage, so I waited to talk to the owner and he got my truck in immediately because he realized that I was quite ticked off on the phone when I called. So after waiting 5 hrs for them to tell me that the tranny coolant line went and to leave my vehical there for a few days, I could pick it up then. I said to the service manager, ok how am I getting home, and he told me THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM! I asked him if he was a crack smoker b/c obviously he didn't realize that I lived 1hr drive away? So he continued to tell me that it wasn't in his policy to lend out vehicals. I told him the hell it isn't! Then I'll damn well wait here until he got off work to drive me home cuz I had all day. Ironically, the owner happened to walk by b/c he heard the confrontation between that idiot and I. So I asked the owner again.. how am I getting home? He said I"m getting a loaner car for you, and I looked at the other fool and said.. that's what I thought. I also told them both that my personal mechanic was shocked that they can safety these vehicals when they break down and are dangerous for their customers within two months of purchasing. So anyhow I got that $800 job done for free. SOrry about the long writen essay here lol but there's no short way of telling you this experience of mine.
