Answer these questions True Or False
1.The elderly do not need as much sleep as younger people
2. Bleary eyed drivers can stay awake better by turning up the car radio and rolling down the windows.
3. Nighttime shift workers eventually readjust to their late hours.
4. Boredom makes you tired.
The answers to all of these are FALSE. Most of us need eight hours of sound sleep to function at our best and to have good health, you need the sleep. Sleep is very important in our lives.

I have very irregular sleeping habits, I have fibromyalgia and this is a symptom of it.

I knew the answer to all of these and also know that I don't get enough sleep. I concider myself lucky if I get 4-5 hours a night which accounts for why I am tired all of the times these days. I've actually started trying some different things to correct this problem but so far nothing is working - it doesn't matter what time I go to bed I'm awake at 6:30 a.m. at the latest and usually long before that.

I usually get 6-8 hours at night and then take a nap for a couple hours during the day. If I'm really stressed though I sleep ALOT. I mean 10-12 hours at a time. It's how I've always dealt with stress.

I would have answered q1. true 2. false, 3. false and 4. true. Shows how much I know eh!.I usually manage about eight hours sleep and once asleep usually stay asleep, but if I am working late I find it difficult to get off to sleep and can lay awake tossing and turning for hours. On these occassions I do not get enough sleep as I have a little one that still wakes me up first thing and find I am very grouchy the following day. So my body definately needs its eight hours. Most of the time I get 7-8 hours sleep if I fall asleep around the same time I put my son to bed. In the weekends I tend to stay up a bit longer though and probably get in about 5-6 hours sleep at most.

I've heard that the older you become the less sleep your body needs to function. They say when you reach around 40 the need for eight hours decreases to around six. But I know I might only sleep 6 hours a night, but I have to nap during the day so I guess that might count. I know I would feel a little more refreshed if I got the whole 8 hours.
