What program can you use to check a faulty blank DVD?

I don't think there are any applications that are able to detect faulty media without burning to the media... Maybe you could try doing a simulation write before actually burning data to the media. This process doesn't actually burn your data to the media, it just simulates the burning process to see if the data can be burned successfully or not.
