Hi there..
I did it once for my cousin's kids they were 2 and their mom was delivering a new baby...
I think it's the most difficult job on earth.. I couldn't sleep all night and kept watching their breath making sure they are ok...
I didn't take money since we are relatives, but I don't advice you do baby-sit unless you really love kids and can handle feeding them, changing their diapers/taking them to the toilet, make sure they are monitored all the time... etc.
I think you are going to search for another job after reading my post :p

I did a lot of babysitting from the time I was 8 till around 20 years old. If you love kids, you can do it.
What I charged then wouldn't be enough now.
Hopefully another reader can help you with that part.
Anyway, keep in mind babysitting isn't just making sure they stay out of the road or get fed on time. Those kids will look up to you. The first girl I ever took care of is now grown and has 5 of her own kids. To this day she calls me her "good mom."
If you don't like to be around little kids or babies, there's nothing wrong with that, but babysitting isn't for you. Apply as a cashier somewhere for 10-20 hours a week.
Good luck in whatever you do. :D

I see you're still young. :o)
I used to babysit from about 7th grade (in 7th grade, I took a babysitting course for safety), and babysat until about about maybe (whoa, pretty short) the end of 9th grade. I did do minor babysitting before the course, but mostly just while parents were home. I actually really enjoyed babysitting (depending on the kids). But it was touching when I few years ago, a family who I used to babysit for way over a decade sent me a letter thanking me and saying how they still remember those special times I spent with the kids; that I was both of the kids' favorite. I was touched.
Anyway, I just took whatever they offered. The price went from $3/hr. to biggest $6/hr. I know this generation gets paid often a psychotically high price, but if you do, just make sure you know all things to do for emergencies and such.
