I have recently began to take the new Nature Made RX Essentials daily supplement. There are several different kinds of these supplements available. Each one is made especially to be taken with RX medications. For example the supplement that is to be taken with Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec and other heartburn & acid reflux medications have the following ingredients in it: Vitamin D 100 IU Vitamin B 6 10 mg Folic Acid 400 mcg Vitamin B 12 200 mcg Calcium 120 mg I find it interesting that my Doctor or Pharmacist did not inform me that studies show that people who take heartburn or acid reflux medications over time may have decreased absorption of vitamin B 12. Vitamin B 6, B 12, and Folic Acid may reduce homocysteine levels which may help in maintaining bone health Studies also show that taking acid reflux or heartburn medications over time may lead to decreased absorption of calcium which along with vitamin D is critical for formation and maintenance of strong bones. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA but they have been found in studies. My questions: Why has the FDA not checked out these studies? Why did my Doctor or Pharmacist not tell me of the risks involved so I could take the necessary precautions? Do you take herbal supplements? Do you take vitamins?

maybe you should be asking your doctor and pharmacist about that, I have no idea. no I don't take any, I don't have the extra money, I know it doesn't cost a lot but my budget can afford it.

Yes I do take vitamins and herb supplements. For example I take Vita-Lea from Shaklee, it's a women's supplement (multi-vitamin) I take bee pollen from Forever Living for my allergies, diabetes and to lose weight. I also take A beta-care from Forever Living to remove a cyst from one of my ovaries.

i always prefer herbal supplements. here in our country there's a lot of herbal medicines available. all you have to do is to find out if the one who made that herb supplement is credible. because some are just ordinary companies while some are reputated doctors who studied for years just to come up with superb herb products. i have witnessed a lot of patients with different cases that was cured by herbal medicines. my dad was one of them. i just can't imagine how some doctors would not tell the true side effect of the medicines that they are prescribing. for sure they know that most of the medicines contain formalin to preserve its vitamins and minerals. huh! not even one of the present medicines in all pharmacy now were available during stone age. they just have to cure themselves the natural way. ;-)
