Dry and Chapped Lips

During the cold winter months dry, chapped lips are quite common in both men and women. I live in a country where there is no winter but I live in a city here in our country where it could get really cold and I often go to places where it could get really hot and humid. Chapped lips can not only “crack your smile“ but they can also the very painful. The skin of the lips is probably the most delicate area of your whole body and that’s why its highly vulnerable to the drying effect of the climate, as the moisture evaporates from the lips, causing the lips to dry out easily. Dry, chapped lips may be caused by different factors – dehydration, excessive sun or wind exposure, licking your lips. In most of the cases chapped lips are caused by dryness of the lips (loss of moisture from the skin in and around the lips), that’s why the best way to prevent and treat chapped lips is to keep the lips well-moisturized all the time. One of the things that I never miss to bring in my bag is a lip balm. I think that this is very important to keep my lips moisturized. Before sleeping, I apply a small amount of petroleum jelly on my lips. I must say that it makes my lips soft.

That is the number one thing I carry on me all the time is my lip balm. My skin and lips get very dry here so I apply lip balm daily and sometimes before I go to bed. I have some on now :)

I live in Northeast Ohio. Chapped lips are common in the winter here. I also get cold sores quite often. The best thing they have on the market is Carmex Lip Balm. Carmex Lip Balm is nothing short of miraculous.

Apply coco butter dear to your lips before going to bed. Drink lots of water, dryness or lack of moisture in your body causes these chapped lips. No one likes to drink water in winter I know, but our body needs to maintain the heat level it produces. If there is too much heat dryness results. Chapped lips are the answer to that. So please drink water or diluted fruit juices like fresh lime. you'll see the result.. all the best

I have some sort of lip balm everywhere I am. In my purse, in a little dop kit thing near my couch in the living room, in my bathroom upstairs in my bedroom. The same with hand lotion. My hands feel uncomfortable after I wash them unless I put some hand lotion on. So, again, in my purse, in the dop kit (I think that is what that is called), in my kitchen, at each and every sink in each and every bathroom in the house and on my desk at work.
