Do you watch this show? I do and I'm addicted to it but I have just one issue with the show. Why on earth do they have the women weigh in wearing those aweful sport bras and shorts? I mean, good lord! Isn't it humiliating enough to be on national television battling your' food demons without having to be humiliated by having the whole world look at your' partially naked body? I think that's a particularly cruel thing to do to them. I know these people knew what they were getting in to when they signed on, but I just think the sport bras and shorts are taking it too far.

The reason they wear these clothes is to not give the men an even bigger advantage, as the women shouldn't wear more clothes for weigh in. One of the sponsors of the show provides the clothes, so don't think the people losing weight are going to complain. I wouldn't have any problem wearing the clothes to lose weight. Many people pay thousands of dollars to lose weight and these people don't have to pay anything. I think all of you are looking at this the wrong way, as the main goal is to lose weight.

If public humiliation wasn't a factor then the producers would give the ladies t-shirts. They could weigh the clothing once, before the first show and then deduct that amount from the scales. I don't think we're looking at this the wrong way. We all admire these people and are pulling for them every show. I want them to succeed. That's why the outfits bother me. You can look at the faces of the ladies and plainly see that the outfits are a humiliating factor. They stand with their arms crossed over their bellies, trying to hide as much as arms can hide. I think the outfits they are wearing are unnecesarry. The producers can do better. These people have my respect. When you respect people, you don't want to see them humiliated.

Yes I do watch this show. We're lucky to get both UK and US shows. I know what you mean about the outfits! I do feel for them especially on the first ever weighing, when they're at their heaviest. I really admire them for putting themselves through what looks like complete torture in order to lead better and healthier lifestyles. I like the exercise and challenges bit of the program as it inspires me to get off my fat bum and be more active!

I admire the contestants for what they are doing and for how determined they are to go through just about anything to get healthy. I just don't think public humiliation with the outfits is helpful. I think that they work too hard and sacrifice too much with all of the hard work and being away from their families to have to be humilated like that.

Yeah, I watch this show too, but the Australian version. I think why the women have to wear the sport bras and shorts is to minimize items they have on their body that might potentially add to their weight while they are on the weighing machine. If they were to wear full gowns while weighing, this might give the males an advantage. Not sure about the actual reason why they have to wear that stuff though.

I would think that if the producers were not trying to humiliate these women then they would weigh a t-shirt and shorts and then set the scales to deduct that amount from the contestants weight. It just seems more appropriate to me.

Yes i watch it occassionally, I like seeing the progress and transformations that these people have made with their lives. Do not know why on earth they do make these poor people were sports bras and shorts. I think it is more for the viewers of television, unfortunately. It would be embarassing for them, but it shows how determined they are in losing weight as they are willing to show their partially naked bodies to the whole nation. Cannot also believe the amount of exercise they do, boy I don't even think I could last an hour of the exercise they do.

I think what they are doing for themselves is wonderful! I like seeing how determined they are to get healthy. I just wish the producers would be a little more understanding of the humiliation factor.
