Everyone at funeral was fooled by mix-up

From, the St. Louis Post Dispatch (Monday, Feb 25,2008). More than 100 people paid respects at a service with open casket for a murder victim they thought was a 41 year old man they still call Junior. In a case of mistaken identity, Junior was, in fact, not dead. He was downtown at a drug rehab center. The father apparently miss-identified his son's body. (Photos are remarkably similar.) The police department took the father's identification (in error) and failed to double check. The next day after the funeral, Junior's wife got a call -- it was Junior. ------ Can you imagine that? I have no earthly idea how one would process something like that.

Those poor people. What a stressful situation. But think about it. Hospitals have been known to mix up babies and send them home with the wrong parents. So it is entirely possible that this could happen. Human error. I hope that officials are able to locate the deceased actual family.

Hi there! That's really weird. I think that it feels great for Junior's family and friends when they learned that he's alive.
