Traveling the Philippines.. 1st part of a series

Manila is the capital of the Philippines and one of the cities that make up the greater metropolitan area of Metro Manila. It is one of the busiest city in Southeast Asia.
I frequent Manila and other places withing Metro Manila. I would like to share some tourist attractions in Manila that I believe is worth visiting...
a. Manila Bay - world-renown because of the beautiful golden sunset. Manila Bay is the finest harbour in the Far East. I have a collection of pictures of sunsets taken at Manila Bay.
b. Intramuros - Intramuros was built by Spaniards in 1571. Inside the walled city is a picturesque of cultural and architectural heritage that describes the history of Manila. It offers numerous scenic tourist attraction like Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, Casa Manila as well as Fort Santiago.
c. Chinatown - Located in Binondo, Manila. Chinatown symbolizes the long history of Chinese living here in the Philippines. The Chinese is involve in trade and business in the Pre-Spanish Period. If you are budget-conscious, you should visit Chinatown because there are a lot of stores that offer great deals on various stuffs.
d. Rizal Park or Luneta Park - Considered as one of the largest parks in Southeast Asia. It has an area of 58 hectares which runs from Taft Avenue up to the walls of the famous Manila Bay.
e. MalacaƱang Palace - Seat of the head of Government of the Philippines since Spanish times; officially stands on the northbank of the Pasig river whose beauty has been said in legend and in song.
f. Malate Church and Quiapo Church - often visited by devout Catholics
g. Manila Zoo - shelters a collection of Philippine and exotic African wildlife.
h. Quiapo Area - known for stores and vendors that sell inexpensive items from clothes to bags and shoes and a whole lot more!i. Malate Area - popular for its bars and restaurants clogged up along the sides of the road especially during the weekends.
j. Divisoria - if you would like to shop till you drop, you might as well visit Divisoria! You will surely get good deals here especially if you buy in bulk!Of course there are more than what I have listed... I just listed my favorite places...

Wow... you've said every place in Manila worth visiting. I've been in Manila for 8 years already and I still keep discovering new places. "Street Bound: Manila on Foot" is a good read and tells of the not-so-famous destinations but definitely worth the visit.

I love Manila! I often go to Manila to work on some errands or just to visit my brother and sister. They are not in Manila but within Metro Manila. Nonetheless, when I visit them, one place in my itinerary would definitely be Manila.
