Etsy on Martha Stewart this Friday!!!

Hi Carol! Etsy is a nice site and they just keep getting better. They've added a bunch of rooms where the admin comes on once a week and does a live critique of someone's shop...very good stuff.
Members of etsy have been trying to get Oprah to to a segment on the site. She has mentioned Etsy on air, but as of yet, no segment. Martha has done so much for Etsy, repeatedly saying "I love Etsy" and having a few shows with some of the sellers. Hopefully this Friday's show does real well.

I also love when I make something just for me! I haven't sat down to knit in quite some time, but the last time I did, I made a beautiful soft scarf for myself. And I enjoy making beach glass jewelry for myself.

A toothpaste holder for fatter tooth brushes...I'd be interested in one of those. My 5 yo has a SpongeBob toothbrush that isn't even round! The square brush is fatter than most brushes and luckily can stand by itself, but I would love to find a holder for it to sit in! I bet those would sell on Etsy-I know I'd buy one!

The toothbrush holder is very basic. I measure the toothbrush and had to decide how tall to make the holder so it wouldn't fall over from the weight of the brush. I spent way too much time but when finished, it will be great.

I may eventually get back into Etsy if the administrator will let me. Just don't have enough stock right now to promote much of anything.

Baby clothes and accessories have been selling well recently. Actually, there was a Etsy seller on Martha earlier this week and she customized onesies...Martha loved her work (sjhe made onesies with pix of dogs and made some with the breed of dog Martha loves..lol) After her segment on Martha, she made 51 sales that day and who knows how many since. I think the poor girl is swamped with work for the next few weeks... I should be so swamped: )

I really didn't have much confidence in my items and I was really pushed by my hubby to join the site. I'm glad I did and I think my creating has improved so much.
Good Luck with the stained glass venture, I really love trying something brand new, even if I'm not that good at it, it's still a lot of fun!

Was it on yesterday or next Friday? How did it go if it was on? I don't watch T.V.

Well, my thinking is they are in a way competing with eBay which has the name, reputation, and members. With this great promotion I'm sure it will be much more popular.

I really need to stop playing around and start lining up shows for spring and summer.

I just received a list of shows in my state (NJ) from a group called StreetFairs.org.
I remember joining as a free member a year or two ago and they sent me a list of about 30 shows, running from mid-April to late Oct. I used their site last year to find a couple of shows.
Even though I wasn't a paying member, I was able to look at the shows from the year earlier and locate the contact info. By emailing the contacts, I either found the person running the show this past year or the previous contact was able to put me in touch with the current spokesperson. So it really worked well for me.
If you are looking for shows in your area, you might be able to find a few on this site.

Oh you are a dear, I signed with a couple similar sites but you can't get contact info without a paid membership and right now I don't have the money for that. I'm going right now to check out this one, thank you thank you thank you:)
