Good: Some freaky mutilating and cool acrobatic sequences. Bad: The story is just a peek of something that could have been better. My Perspective: "The Protector" is a fight-film worth watching only to view good action. Before the kudos, I'll express myself in what I disliked.. The story was watered down and left much to be desired. The acting was widely weak. The premise, could have been exploited much better. But at least it held nice moments of comedy relief. Toni Jaa, plays a fighting character named Kham, of Bruce Lee fighting proportions. He does a great job at fighting fierce and is ruthless in his mutilating. The director Prachya Pinkaew, did a great job at displaying Jaa's agility and fluidity in the many fight sequences. Also, the directors use of creative direction and sweet use of angles helped enhance the enjoyment of the action. This is a Thai. action film, involving a young fighter named Kham, who's elephant was stolen and taken to Australia. Thai culture treats an elephant as a family member, so Kham must depart to rescue his "brother". In this film he does it at any cost, and by any measure. This is a great fight-flick.. lacking in the story department. So if you're willing to bypass substance.. you will surely enjoy the style. - ZeN Did you like "The Protector"?
