Today I started my cabbage soup diet. This morning was pretty tough. I have a feeling all day today and tomorrow are going to be rough. I made the cabbage soup last night, and wow it stunk up my house! YUCK! It was sort of time consuming to boil the cabbage, for some reason, it wouldn't get soft. At first I just let it boil without a lid on my pot (and I needed a huge pot to fit all this cabbage in) then when I kept coming back to stir it, it still felt crisp, so I added a lid on the pot and that worked better. In there I had 1/2 white cabbage head and 1/2 purple cabbage head. I added enough water to cover the cabbage which ended up measuring out to about 6 cups.
Next I cut up all my vegetables that were needed in this recipe which were, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, green peppers, onions and finally chicken bullions.
The recipe actually called for 2-3 garlic cloves, 6 little oniones, and well the rest of the recipe wasn't very detailed on the amount I was suppose to use so I went online and got more information.
After I boiled all my ingredients, I mixed it together and VOILA! There we have it.. Cabbage soup!! I had a little tester taste last night and it's actually not bad. It's so purple from the cabbage's color, it dyed all the rest of the ingredients.
So today I eat as much soup as I want and as much fruit all day. Since I woke up and started, I feel like I'm sleepy, but this is what I"m expecting anyhow.
Tomorrow will be another looooong day and challenge of the Cabbage Soup Diet.
Wish me luck :)

I tried this diet several years ago, though not with purple cabbage. Hang in there it really does work. Back then there was one day that was only bananas and didn't care much for that day. Do they still call for that? Good luck with the diet.

All drastic diets begin like that. It is because you are beginning to detoxify your body. I went on the Atkins diet 4 years ago and I thought I was going to die the first day of it, but it got easier every day and within a week it was really simple. That one works really well and fast too. The first day of any serious diet takes a tremendous amount of willpower. Willpower is not my strong suite, but I was determined. Unfortunately I have gained most of it back because we moved out of state and went off the diet with all the fast food while traveling and packing, etc. But that was my fault. When you are truly ready and determined to make it you can do it. Just be really strong for a day or two and it all falls into place.
