Peter Petrelli is too powerful in Heroes |
|
i think Peter Petrelli is too powerful since he can absorb, copy and use all the powers of different heroes at the same time, he's like Rogue in Xmen but he keeps the powers permanently with no consequences! that's why i think the story always tries to make him weaker by giving amnesia or being led astray by the enemy like what kenzo did to him. because if he just all out goes toe to toe with even sylar, sylar would not stand a chance.. what do you think?:)

1. Angelwriter (1021) | 5 months ago | I think as far as sheer number of powers, Peter and Sylar are even. And, Peter isn't always in control of his powers, which is why he couldn't stop himself from exploding in season 1. I think that's what keeps him from being too powerful. His powers are tied to his emotions, and he's not really calm, cool, and collected.

CyborgMC (142) | 5 months ago | No, no no....:) The most important power, the one Sylar covet's he doesn't have, but peter does. The Healing power of Clair. Without it, Sylar would always be at a disadvantage (Power wise), because Peter would always automatically have any powers that Sylar has. Remember, Peter got his Telekinetic powers from his encounter with Sylar. Sylar does seem to stay one step ahead of Peter though, he seems more cunning and has a seeming greater mastery of the powers he does have.

Personally I think the series would be much more interesting if all characters had there own abilities and that was that. Maybe a few had more than one but none of this one hero absorbing all the others. In the end it will always be sylar and peter at the end which will get old. Season 2 was certainly a bit of an odd one personally. I just hope that they learn from there mistakes and make future seasons GREAT like the 1st one.

bimmer999 (863) | 5 months ago | i thought so too, season 2 was kind of 'plain' as compared to season 1, in season 1 I always looked forward to the next episode with excitement! but in season 2 i was just 'oh ok, there's a new episode'... maybe the writers' strike got to the season 2 script..

| estaban2501 (40) | 5 months ago | I was doing a bit of searching back when season 2 "ended" and long story short they realized they made quite a few mistakes throughout season 2. They vowed to go back to the ways of season 1 with more cliff hangers and they also will introduce the "threat" much sooner.

5. sageivyberyl (699) | 5 months ago | I think Peter is one of the best characters on the show. I do not think that they make him weak. I think they make him vulnerable at times but what is more important is that no matter the situation, Peter is a good man who doesn't abuse his powers. It is the timeless question. Does absolute power always corrupt absolutely or is it the weakness of the man who has the power that allows him to become corrupt. Peter is the ultimate good guy. Regardless of what has happened, Peter is always deep in the core, a good man.

8. kulaskulasito (383) | 4 months ago | When I first give Peter Petrelli a serious thinking, I thought that he was the equivalent of Jean Grey in the Xmen series and/or movies. He is indeed very powerful. To be curtailed, certain situations had to created - Jean Grey's psychic blocks, Peter Petrelli's amnesia. Peter's power surely resembles perfectly with that of Rogue. But the way he is portrayed in the series, he can match the power of Jean Grey - someone who is so powerful to be considered class five. What is important in Petrelli's character lies in the fact that he is a good person, and can wield his power for good purposes as well, at least, if not into some kind of amnesia or something. It is his gift. Unlike Jean Grey, who in her inner recesses is sheer energy, joy and rage, Peter is someone certainly in control. He is way too powerful. But that is secondary I think. What stands to be more important for him - and for his creator's to maintain - would be to be in control.

In the end, Peter is the only one that can really stand blow-for-blow with Sylar. The only issue is that Peter cannot always control his powers, e.g. Ted's nuclear ability. This novelty of discovering and absorbing new powers and learning to harness them in such a short time is what keeps Peter from being too powerful and keeps him human.

10. jhonymax2cool (219) | 3 months ago | well i think peter is really powerfull but being very true and kind he gets duped by many ppl and so his powers dont help him much too.but thats wht makes it good in the story cause if he wouldnt be like that then the story would have ended very soon just like a cowboy movie.
