how many square feet would your dream house be  

My husband and I finally agreed on a set of houseplans that fits everything we want in a house. It turns out it's only about 2000 sq. feet at most. The real issue for us was how the house was laid out and how practical it was.

They say bigger is better. If you can afford it, you'll likely get a much better return on your investment in the long run. Some people say smaller is better because it takes less work & costs to maintain & can always add on when their situation changes. Most people buy what they're comfortable with maintaining. Big houses & big yards take a lot of time & money & can tie you down. On the other hand, land & extra rooms can work to your advantage if you know how best to make use of them. I think a good deal is a good deal in real estate & if you're flexible with your options & are prepared to do the hard yards, you can really make it work out for you. I'm nearing completion of two years worth of renovations on my house & can tell you it has been such a lot of work for such a little house! I'm not sure if I could handle a bigger one by myself. I have lots of ideas, but will need a regular army to maintain it all every day.
