Where to stay in DC? | | From those who live in DC and those who have visited recently, where do you suggest "tourists" stay? Is it better to stay outside the beltway and drive in or stay close to the "hub" and walk everywhere?

take the train in or bus line to a subway and you will be color coded to any place in the dc area..and yes this is a good walking city too..but they have a bus that goes around the major landmarks and you can get on and off with your paid ticket..its good as this is a tour bus too but you can stay on the whole tour and then get on and off where you want to spend some time...its good for the whole day..its all good..but in the summer it is very very hot in July and August so bring a lot of water bottles..
