My friend waited for hours to receive me

I informed my friend about my arrival to his city and requested him to receive me at the Railway junction. My journey hours in the train was 34 hours and I was quite new to the place. we maintain friendship from our primary school. Due to employment we could not meet quite often. There was a long gap of 10 years when we met last. Unfortunately due to heavy floods in rivers the train took a round about route and was running late by 20 hours. My friend visited thrice to the railway station to check up the arrival time. The railway authorities are unable to furnish the expected time and finally they anounced the train has reached the prior junction. My friend waited patiently for three hours in the station and received me. We embraced in happiness. Do you have any experience like this? please share it.
