Do You Try/Like to Repair Your Computer?

yes I have the same knowledge about computer hardware is the letters by whenever there is a problem with my computer which is harder related at first I give it a try. And as then I feel that he is the problem which has occurred raised out of my reach then I go to any person who can repair it. This is the reason why even when three of my friends and relatives have problem with their computer they also call me for help and I am very glad to do that. Frank is picking in today's world it is very important that you have some basic knowledge about computer hardware is so that you can let their small problems. I have seen a lot of times that is people call engineers for even small problems like misplacement of RAM or in a loose wires and for that they had to pay at least a hundred bucks. Which is not at all a good thing according to meet. Every single cent you earn is harder and money and so you should never give it away easily.

i usually deal with problems that are software based as iam more interested in software than hardware.
I rarely deal with hardware as if anything goes wrong with the hardware then the comp is doomed whereas in software if something goes wrong there is always a choice of reinstalling.

Yes, to answer your question, I do deal with my own PC's problems...

And most of the time, its hardware problems that I faced and I have to replace the parts to ensure the PC works again like before...

It is always frustrating when a PC fail to operate smoothly and too much time is wasted to find out what's wrong with it

Nowadays, I solve all the software issues myself. And very strangely, now that I am am, my computer never seems to be bogged by problems I used to have.

As for hardware, I am quite limited on it but at least I know how to clean the fans now LOL.:P

And I agree - it is indeed gratifying - it's like, hey, I fixed the computer myself MYSELF!:)

Initially i always used to call in for services to tackle any problem in my computer, infact i had an annual contract for the same but slowly i tried to tackle problems on my own and soon i was able to set software problems in order and i then started downloading programs from download.com to tackle problems and would read the discussion forum too. This helped me a lot and now i manage most of the problems unless i need to add something new like a server which is not possible at my end as this needs specialized software. I have done some work on hardware too.

I think I kinda sound like you!!! I have now taken several OLD computers that were not working and revamped them and made a old slow computer for my kids! We can't afford a newer one.. so they are happy with the dinasour.

We are still running windows 98se and I am scared to upgrade since I know so much anymore about my two computers~!

I try to deal with my PC problems. I rarely call a PC technician. Why would I call a PC Technician to fix my computer, when I have a wonderful guide that can help me fix it on my own called the Internet. It is a waste of money to me calling PC Technicians because even if it was a simple error, they will still charge you fully. There is no point in that. Before I call a PC technician (which I haven't in the past nine years), I will make sure I have exhausted all my options or possibilities. I would at least try to fix it. Besides, most of the time, when I get a computer problem and I fix it on my own, I learn something new. The more knowledge I have about computers means the less I have to pay in PC technician's pockets.

You say you have been working with computers since 1997, thats a long time. I've only started in 2000 but i'm still a teenager. About the topic, yes i do try to fix my computer sometimes it dosen't break down allot. However my last computer broke down and i had to buy a new one since it would no longer work....its a good the thing it was insurred so i got a new free but since the new one was better i had to pay extra. I do like repairing my computer when it breaks down becuase it increase my knowledge on computers and things to do with the computers.

For me, I am very experience with the software part of computers and knowledgeable about the hardware part too. When it comes to fixing my computer, I usually do it myself and am very successful at it. I think this saves time and money since I dont have to wait for a technician and I dont have to pay them either. It also enhances my knowledge about computers which will help me in the future if I run into that problem again, I will know how to fix it already.

i've been working with computer since i was 2nd year high school(1993) and its was 286 to 386 model back then lols^_^.

i had a lot of experience in computer but i still consider my self as an advance user not an expert because computer evolution is still growing fast and there is still a lot to learn about.

So far i been watching how computer hardware getting better and better, faster and faster. And for software, ive been moving from DOS to Windows to LINUX(i think i'll longer in this OS^_^).
