It's a Mystery How History Resembles and Repeats Itself

I have always loved history. It was my next favorite subject in school after English and Literature.
Have you ever sat down and compared historic events? Did you like history when you were in school? If not, why?
Here is something to wrap your head around.
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.
Now it gets really weird.
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Now hang on to your seat.
Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'
Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker...
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was in Marilyn Monroe ;)
And thus concludes your history lesson for the day. Any Questions?

The original post said he was WITH Marilyn Monroe but I figured it is no secret by now so I changed it to IN.
I actually think I have managed to write a discussion were fruit and medical problems can't be worked into the comments. Wow! It only took 2 weeks :)

This discussion was started from a classic e-mail I have seen forwarded around for years. It appeared in my inbox this morning and sparked the idea. But if I come across anymore I will be sure to send them along to you.
Btw, thanks for the request. I wuv new friends ;)

I remember when our American History Teacher taught us about these facts. As a matter of fact, I had to take a test on this. Easiest test I had ever taken! Anyways, when you said it is a mystery how history resembles and repeats itself, I had another thing in mind. I was thinking about the Vietnam War and the Iraq War. We might have been pulled into the war for two different reasons, but in the end, we fought the same battle for the same purpose: to spread democracy. That is why I currently while I do not and never supported our entry into the Iraq War, at the same time, it is too late not to pull out. Because when the United States pulled out of Vietnam, our nation became very disgraced. It was not until the Gulf War that we were able to regain our image as the world most powerful superpower. Al Qaida right now is waiting for the United States to repeat its history and that is for us to pull all our troops out of Iraq and then take over that nation the way the communists took over Vietnam when we pulled out. The only difference now is that if we pull out now, Al Qaida will not only take over Iraq, it will start terrorizing the United States and its allies.

This is a good history lesson for future generations and now.
President Hary Truman said "man makes history and history does not make man"...but i wonder if it could not be a little of both?

I think it has to be a little of both. lol If not for history man would be destined to make the same mistakes over and over and over again.

very interesting!!What do you make of it? Do you think there was a reason that they were both this similiar? Or what is the cosmic balance of life laying a smack down in a very funny way? OK I'm in a mood and I'm tired so I tend to get goofy. Talk to you laters. LOL!!Have a nice one.
