Brother breaks PS3 and has been monthes hasn't repayed me or bought me another

Last summer my brother got mad over something stupid and had to take it out on my ps3 system, which I work so hard and saved for. Plus my g.f gave me 200 bucks just to help me get the ps3. Now since its destroyed and I tried calling Sony and Best Buy and trying to file a complaint and doing w.e I can to get another but nothing. My brother said he was gonna get me another one but it has been 6 months and he keeps dodging me. I don't know what to do or how to get him to either pay it up or buy another already. One thing is for sure I feel miserable no matter what because you work hard for something and someone just comes in and takes it away/destroys it, its like*sigh*
