Do You Watch Scary Movies Even Though They Freak You Out? |
|
For years. actually since I was a kid I have loved to watch scary movies. I don't think I have ever watched a movie like that without covering my eyes through parts of it. Then lots of times I end up getting really uneasy for the next few days. Once when I was like 16 I saw the Exorcist for the first time and wouldn't be in the house by myself for like a month. My family and friends always ask me why I watch them if they freak me out so much. And I tell them that I just think it's fun to be scared once in a while even if I end up peeking at parts between my fingers that are covering my eyes. Does anyone else do this? Does anyone think it's fun to have a good scare once in a while?

2. lordwarwizard (9104) | 6 months ago | Sure I do lol. Though horror movies aren't really my favorite genres, I find them okay. If there is a decent movie coming up in the theaters, I will go for it too. What's life without some good scares?:P

oneandonemakesix (24192) | 6 months ago | Hey lord, I find that if I want a good scare, laugh, or cry all I have to do is to turn on the news or read CNN, any given day, and you can get scared just as easily, todays horror in the US happened in West Palm Beach when 1 was killed 4 were injured by a man who for unknown reason who opened fire on the restaurant....I could never imagine living through a horror like that but some people did.... And it shows just how scary our world has become. Mooch

dfinster (1701) | 6 months ago | I understand what you mean about the world itself being scary, but I still like the scary movies just for fun. I am not really phased by the bad stuff on the news. Don't get me wring I care that people are getting hurt and killed by people that are crazy, but I think movies are fun for me because I know they're not real.~D

5. brimia (6116) | 6 months ago | As long as it's not realistic gore, I am drawn to scary movies at times...even though they really scare me and freak me out. I saw the Exorcist when I was 8 years old and I had nightmares for years after.

6. OreoCookie3 (13015) | 6 months ago | You know, it really depends on the movie or drama. Some things I cannot watch at all, but other dramas that are scary I do like. I like Dexter the good serial killer that hunts down serial killers. I have only seen it once, but I want to catch it again. It comes on Sunday's here, and I always seem to miss it. I guess I am on mylot too much! hehe. I also like Moonlight, which is the vampire cop. But blood, guts and gore, I cannot watch that.

7. maddysmommy (10111) | 6 months ago | I am not much of a horror movie person and often don't watch too many scarey movies. The first one I saw was the Omen and that scared the life out of me. I even had nightmares for a few days!

dfinster (1701) | 6 months ago | I've never seen the Omen. I heard it was pretty scary though. I get nightmares once in a while but usually not until a few days later.~D

8. winterose (11985) | 6 months ago | i always loved scary movies, the scarier the better, but don't give me slasher movies like halloween I think they are garbage. I still watch horror films but they have to be good quality to keep my interest going, I love the omen and the exorcist series
| |
| |
|
|
dfinster (1701) | 6 months ago | I guess I differ a little from you winterose. I really liked the original Halloween and the remake as well. Maybe it's because that's what I grew up with . I also really like all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies too, but they were popular when I was in High school.

9. oneandonemakesix (24192) | 6 months ago | Hey DF The answer to this is not just no, but heck no, I get totally freaked out if I watch a horror movie or scary movie, and I will have nightmares. I can read a book easier than I can watch a movie, I may have nightmares still but they are not as bad as watching a movie.... Mooch

10. mbs730 (1889) | 6 months ago | It really depends on my mood. Usually I would have to say no, but if I am in a morbidly curious kind of mood then I will.
| |

|
|
dfinster (1701) | 6 months ago | I guess I don't really have to be in any kind of mood. If a scary movie is on I just watch it. It always gets my adrenaline going a little bit.
