| | they are so cute.My pit bull would check my son's room at night.Made sure he was asleep and if all was well she would sit in front of his door.They do believe in guarding there space.Most of the problems come from trying to make them tuff or mean.I never even saw my pit ever show his teeth to my son.She would nugg him with her mouth(closed)if he tries to pull her tail etc.Excellent dog such a bad rep in the USA | | | |

| |  I definately love the breed. They are such awesome dogs. I would rather not own another breed, but my hubby likes other dogs as well, so we'll probably have another breed sometime to go along with out Pits. But for now, we have 3, going on 4 Pit Bulls. :)

| |  They have NOT made a bad name for themselves. Irresponsible OWNERS and breeders have made a bad name for them. If you are going to own a pitbull (a wonderfully intelligent and loving dog), you have to take responsibility for it. Pitbulls were originally bred to attack and kill other animals. The flip side of that is that they were expressly bred to be very tolerant of people. You have to work very hard to make a pitbull mean to a person. You have to work very hard to socialize a pitbull with other dogs (it can be done, particularly if you start early). There are tragic events related to pitbulls, but there are tragic events related to automobiles too and no one is banning them.
