At Home and Looking at Working Brothers and Sisters.

Well, I still don't have a job yet so I could say this as just my observation towards my older siblings who already have work. They all go to work and leave me and my mom at home to take care of the younger ones and when they do get back from work, they more often than not sleep their whole stay at home. The house suddenly turned into a place where it seems that they are only renting a place to stay. Have you ever noticed something like this as well? Among those who work long hours at a distant place from your home and just rest the whole time when you do get back from work? I know its part of life and everybody goes through the same thing but, its kind'a mundane and somewhat a routine that needs to change. Of course, I could assume that they now all have another social circle when at work among colleagues. Somewhat troubling that our home is slowly turning into just a house.

Ive always felt that way,.well,..most of the time anyway. I kinda grew up with my Dad gone for days/weeks/months at a time and my Mom working full time. Was always left alone with the nanny or as I got older by myself. After they'd come home, we'd have dinner then go about our own business. Take into consider that we used to live in a small 2 room (not counting the kitchen and rest room)bungalow. If I didnt have any classes Id just watch tv all day cause back then we didnt have any internet connection. Now that we have a bigger house with 2 levels, we kinda have our own 'spaces' now. But I can say that we have more interaction as compared to the small flat. Dad also does his work at home. Now is that we all have our own schedules and hardly talk to each other but all is well. Though there are times especially when Im left home alone that I own the whole house. Only difference from then (with the flat) and now is that I had a cat to keep me company, these days I only have the computer..

Its just a 30min.-1hour commute so renting would be indeed impractical. Eat at the same time...well..that would really depend. I mean I dont eat breakfast, lunch would be somewhere downtown especially when I have classes or errands to do. Dinner would be the only almost constant meal when we eat together. Talk? Sure they do talk. I just dont. There's usually no dinner table pleasantries. The conversation would be about the news anyway. What were those things that you used to do before you had internet connection? Only had one cat, and am actually still pestering my Mom to get another one. The first one got spooked when we moved. Ran away and I never saw him again. He's kinda the cat that I grew up with. The one we got in the new house was ok but my Mom dumped him someplace cause it likes to do his business in her "garden". Id love to have a cat again but Mom is firm in her decision. Id probably revert to reading one book after another, play cards on my own, visit relatives often or walk around town when and if electricity is cut off. Yeah, kinda lets you get back to the "old days" huh?

Late?..Always, on the first class. TV would always be on during meals. Otherwise Id rush through the meal just so I can continue watching my shows. Always have the urge to pick up kittens myself.

That' kind'a ironic.. well, things just seem to end up like the way they are for some reason, I guess.. For you or your parents would also prefer to have the television on during meals? Always have the urge but, do you also go along with the urge or you don't pick them up since your mom wouldn't really like the garden to become a litter box?

Hope you get a job soon too. But for the time being why sell in ebay? Look around your own stuff or stuff in your house.....

I've also been considering on selling things online but, as I have mentioned to zweeb ([b]where is he by the way, busy[/i]?) before, I only do meet-ups so to ensure a deal or no deal conclusion. For meet ups, I need money to meet up which adds more expense than profit for me. Then, these items I have around don't really have much value, let alone interest for those who might just drop by to view it online to even consider on purchasing. It'd be best if I could really distribute really good items that are well sold at present.. (-_-") Yeah, a real job should do the trick..

I see, taking a break. Hope he comes back with interesting discussions then. As you have mentioned, there are lots of discussions here that aren't really that interesting, well for me I guess.. There are still other discussions that would probably be interesting but, they're actually hard to find (^_^")

Yup since I am working sometimes I miss being at home. Too bad sometimes as much as I may want to leave work early, I can't because my office mates arrive later than me and they always schedule meetings at an inconvenient time. Maybe I need to find a better job so that I could spend more time at home.

That's quite a paradox.. I mean, we work hard so that we could enjoy a better life but, by insisting to achieve such a better life, we immerse ourselves on more work.. If you really like to spend more time at home than at work, you might not be able to enjoy spending time at home in the long run.. Perhaps you and you office mates can set schedule meetings that isn't inconvenient for everyone concerned?
