Have the sirens been for you?  

i haven't been to an ambulance where i am the patient but i experience riding to it twice in my life, the first one was when i was in highschool and my niece got dengue. she was hospitalize to the nearest goverment hospital in our place but later on transfered to a private hospital in the city proper, she's very weak then so we need to call an ambulance.
the other one was during my sister's delivery of her baby.

Thankfully I have not ride in an ambulance as a patient. But I have rode in an ambulance on many occasions and have driven them so many times. I am a paramedic in our city and I worked in a rescue unit for 13 years. Will, I could not really tell how it feel when you ride in the ambulance as a patient but I'm sure that its somewhat uneasy, strange, fear, and worry.

I have been in an ambulance three times and had the fire brigade 3 times and had a police escort twice. I think the emergency services do an absolutely fantastic job and without them many of us wouldn't be here today to tell the tale. My ex sister-in-law is a parmedic and as well as having to deal with the casulties they quite often get attacked by drunks just trying to do their job. The most frightening experience was I was visiting a friend with my two children, she had five and another two were round playing, there was an electrical fault on a cooker and the maisonette was in flames in no time, I managed to get 8 of the nine children out safely but couln't get upstairs to her oldest who jumped from the fourth floor, luckily being very gymnastic she landed on a lower balcony with nothing more than a twisted ankle, I remember being taken by ambulance with one of the babies on a double oxygen mask with me. The main thing is we were all ok. I always make sure whenever a visit a building I know where the nearest exit is. Ellie :D

Yep, I have been a patient in an ambulance a few times in the past when I was a smoker. When I couldn't breathe I was taken to the hospital and admitted. That happened to me about 4 or 5 times before I finally woke up and quit that nasty habit... but now I am left with chronic lung disease that acts up when I have a cold. I have to be on oxygen sometimes when I get bad... but at least I don't have to be hospitalized anymore for not being able to breathe.

I have been in an ambulance patient a couple of time. When I was young, I fell off my bed (well, I was jumping on it) and hit my head on the wall an had to get stiches. I think I was 5 maybe?

The other time was three years ago. I ruptured an ovarian cyst at about 5am, and I had to call 911. It was the most agonizing pain I had ever experienced in my life.

The ride itself was very painful because the ambulance just bounced around a lot.

fortunately that has never happened to me, it has always scared me though.
