Remember the 50's; silly putty, hula hoops, Davy Crockett coonskin caps, Dr. Suess, Highlights Magazine, Little Golden Books, Rebel Without A Cause, Around the World In 80 Days, Invasion Of the Body Snatchers, duck tails and poodle skirts
Or maybe the 60's; Peter Max artwork, Twiggy, Batman, Hot Wheels, Barbies, Etch-A-Sketch, Mr Potato Head, Spirograph, Easy Bake Ovens, The Graduate, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Mini skirts and bell bottoms
Or how about the 70's; Lava lamps, 8-track tapes, chia pets, Ouija boards, smiley faces, pop rocks candy, Holly Hobbie, Slip and Slide's, Nancy Drew, Saturday Night Fever, Carrie, Star Wars, The Exorcist, feathered hair, halter tops and fringed vests
Maybe the 80's sounds more familiar; Dungeons and Dragons, Garfield, scratch and sniff stickers, Strawberry Shortcake, Atari systems, Teddy Ruxpin, My Little Pony, Fatal Attraction, Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, colored mascara, leg warmers, acid washed jeans and jellie sandals
And last but not least the 90's; Tickle Me Elmo, Hello Kitty, Thigh Master, Slim Fast, chat rooms, e-mail, the dancing baby, Married With Children, Roseanne, the Cartoon Network, the Psychic Hotline, the "Goth" look, nose, tongue and naval piercings
Want to add anything to these lists, please feel free. Lets have a little bit of fun walking down memory lane.

I was too young to remember the 50's... but it would be...
- Elvis Presley
- Fats Domino
- Chuck Berry
- John Wayne
- Marilyn Monroe
- Brigitte Bardot
And a countless list of famous actors and actresses.

The 60's
- The Beatles
- The Rolling Stones
And a countless list of famous bands and singers

- Men started wearing long hair in 1965 (courtesy of the Beatles)
And even longer hair at the end of the sixties with the hippie movement in full swing by 1968.
- We also got the flare trousers at the end of the sixties... which I loved to death. lol

Of course... we landed on the moon in 1969.
And most of the sixties was a race for the moon.
People were also very worried of a nuclear war with Russia.
There was the Cuban crisis... in 62 I think.
I think the Berlin wall went up in the early sixties.
And there was Vietnam.

The 70's
The first half belonged to the hippies...
Then came Abba and Disco dancing.

- Dirty Harry would make Clint Eastwood a celebrity.
- The Godfather would do the same for Al Pacino.
- Smokey and the Bandit made Burt Reynolds number One.
The first car chase movies were made in the early 70's
- 60 seconds (the original)
- Dirty Mary Crazy larry with Peter Fonda

First Color Televisions 1974 in Australia

The 80's
- Michael Jackson
- Madonna
- Tina Turner was re-born
- INXS
- Dire Straights
- Marriage of Princess Diana
- Apple computers are popular
- By the end of the eighties... everyone has an home video recorder.
- Space Shuttle

The 90's
Bill Gates promote the concept of a computer in every home with the release of Windows.
- The Internet
- First DVD players
- First mobile phones
- First Pentium computers

1991 War with Irak

I remember silly putty... and I had my hula hoop up until last year actually, when I finally parted with that thing. I could no longer keep it up on my waist, about the only thing I could do is spin it around my neck. I loved my Etch-a-Sketch too... and the Lava Lamp. I loved the 8 track tape decks.. I don't know why they didn't last. I'm not so into the newer things, but I sure did love the things of my childhood.

Slouch socks in the 80's! My daughter wanted them, I thought they were so stupid, but it was that or biker shorts under baby doll dresses, so i went along with it. Of course, gave in on the biker shorts/dress later!!

Funny thing, all of those things have come "back in style" at one time or another, once or twice in the decades to follow! My GD loves to try to hoola hoop and I just gave my son's Teddy Ruxpin to his daughter and she adores him!

Oh, don't forget the 90's "did I do thaaat?" - Steve Erkel!!
