What Are you Saving for and why? |
| |
| What do you splurge on? I mean, plan and save for a specific thing - not vacation or anything large like that but little stuff..or just something that makes you happy just to have it. Right now I am in the process of saving all my PTC/GPT money and want to buy some DVD sets of TV shows/series back when they were really good 60's and 70's and 80's - before TV took a dump!!! LIke The Wonder Years, Star Trek Original Series (My and Capt Kirk are still married!) Guns of WIll Sonnett, Gidget (with Sally Field) Here's Lucy. I am waiting for the second season of Here Come the Brides to come out this summer (word has it) I have the first season- what a fun show! My son works with Bobby Sherman!!! I told him had bobby married me like Iwanted him to he'd be working with his dad right now! Oh, another one I am saving for is the mini series North and South (Patrick Swazey and James Read - amazing mini series!) And I did a wish list on Amazon.com so I can tell my kids to check it out when they ask me for Mothers Day gifts!!! Okay, I digress... but what do you like to "save up" for? And why are you saving for what you are saving? My reason, is first, memories and good times and just fun shows to watch and enjoy. No violence and crime nad rapes and s*x and no family values and everybody just hookin' up with everyone all the time. There aren't any good family shows on tv these days. Plus, with cable so high, so little worth wathing anyway, I will most likely be canceling my cable and keep only local channels - this way I'll have good things to watch! | | | | | |

| | I'm going to start saving my mylot money and my AC money for an eye exam and glasses. I need these because my glasses don't fit me anymore. I want to get a laptop, but I will just get the glasses instead since I do need them. They will cost over $400 so I will be saving for a while. | | | | | | |

| | Good luck to you. I had to keep my daughter in glasses for years - they can be expensive! I was thinking of saving for a laptop but then figured, what for? I have my desktop right here, and witht he issue of the battery life and such, I'm not going anyplace so why bother spending $1000 on it to go sit in the living room! | | | |

| | The only reason I started earning cash on the net is to pay for membership on an online game that I am playing. I need 6.95 USD a month to play so I hope I can make this lol... My parents won't pay wit their credit card so I gotta make my own cash lol | | | | | | |

| | And I say not only to you, but to your parents .... good for you all! To you for being so repsonsible and learning how to accomodate your wants, and to your parents for teaching you how to do that! I am sure you can make it! | | | |

| | I don't have a particular thing I am saving for from the money I earn on mylot and survey sites. When I get the checks or funds through paypal I transfer/deposit it straight to my account and use it for day-to-day things that I need. | | | | | | |

| | That's how I started out. Things changed over they years and now this is my "stash" - after I pay for the gas to transport my Grand daughter back and forth to school every other week - soon to double the trips! But use it where you need it! | | | |

| | How funny, my boyfriend and I were just talking about this same subject. I am saving my money from mylot and a few other sites to buy my son an IPOD which he desperately wants. He just moved here to Phoenix with me a couple of months ago and has made a few friends, but not enough to keep him entertained. He doesn't ask for much, but I know this is something he would like to have. It really motivates me to post here knowing that I am doing something to benefit him. | | | | | | |

| | I have 2 little grand daughter 2, 8 and I don't get to see either of them this year for easter. I am always watching the dollar racks nad picking things up for them and even sending them little things during the times I don't see them - they both live right here in town! Crying shame I can't see them more! But it was fun when my kids were little todo the easter baskets -I was always so short on money that I'd buy a "practical basket". Instead of a regular "toss when done" basket, I'd buy like a dump truck for my son and fill that or a purse for my daughter and fill that with the easter stuff! Worked out really nice for all of us - they loved it, I liked watching them enjoy it and my budget was happy too! | | | |
