| Traffic Exchanges...why? | | | | Traffic exchanges are popping up all over the place. I do not like them. Just a bunch of people clicking some ad to earn a credit so their ad can get clicked. Your website opens in a timed and framed page. When the timer is done (usually 10-30 seconds) the person gets a credit. I just hit about 40 websites in less than 5 minutes. I did not see any of them. That is how bad the exchanges are. What good did it do? So the advertiser got a hit to their website, but it is a framed page (website embedded in exchanges website). Why do people trying to make money online do these? | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | Because you really should look at the sites. When I surf exchanges I am courtious enough to actually look at the sites being advertised. I can safely say that used correctly Traffic Exchanges can be VERY beneficial to any online endeavor. I've earned 100's of referalls from traffic exchanges and not to just other exchanges but people have actually bought items. I can say the same for myself. I've bought items from ads on exchanges as well as signed up for countless sites that I've seen on exchanges. Also the website is framed but you still see the site being displayed and also it still counts as hit to your website. I fail to see why it being framed is an issue. A few tips for using exchanges. 1. Don't use generic pages!- Surfers have seen them 100's of times 2. Put a personal touch to your ads- explain why you use the product/site and why others should as well 3. Use splash pages- quick loading pages that are short and to the point. 4. Be selective on the traffic exchanges you use. They are not all created equal. Take a look at a rankings list to get and idea. http://trafficexchangelis... is one example. | | | | | | | | SolidSolutions (9)

| | very nice response! The frame has to do with where the traffic originates from. Or where the hit comes from. If a frame, then the server the exchange is on makes the call not the user surfing the exchange. Your 4 points are very good and would certainly make the exchanges a much better place and be more effective for the promoter. The other thing is traffic exchanges are also good just for increasing hits for hits sake. More hits to a page is good just for more hits to a page. There are better ways to construct the exchanges and people are realizing that and making improvements. I find those to be much better exchanges, but the listing you provide through that link is a great resource I hope people use! Thanks for the thoughtful response.
