Champagne Corks and Snakes  

I sprained my wrist on a bottle of homemade wine. Here's the story:

I make Christmas wine during the fall using apple and pear cores and peels (from pies and other goodies that I make at that time of the year). Well, this year I was making it in an empty plastic apple juice bottle with a wide mouth and screw on top. As it ferments, the pressure builds. I was opening the bottle to add some more peels and cores, forgetting to move my hand out of the way of what would become the flying plastic missile of a top, so when the top popped, my hand was in the way and it hit with enough pressure to sprain my wrist.

never been bitten by a snake but i have survived a few stray corks

Interesting. I have never been hit by any champagne corks or bitten by snakes. I have handled many snakes and been aruond qute a few bottle of champagne when they were being open. We tend to be quite cautious when opening things like champagne since we know that they can do major harm.
