car trouble on vaccation  

ok, dispite the health problems my husband has been having we decided that we would just get a way for about 10 days.. so we packed up our van we are in the process of still paying for and went to florida. we had no problems at all on the way down or while we were there. then we decided to go to the craftmans truck race at daytona. so we picked my dad up in sarasota and on our way we were. well we got just about to lakeland and i noticed that the od light started blinking on and off. so my courious mind asks my husband why that is happening and all he says is i have no idea it just started. not even a minute later he looks in the mirror just to see smoke barreling out the back. so he thinks at this point we are on fire because of all the smoke. so we get off the nearest exit which was about 2 miles ahead. we pull into this ammco transmission and they have a look. there is transmission fluid pouring out all over the place. needless to say it was not going anywhwere till at least tuesday. so we rent a car get to the race. and find out on tuesday that there are more problems than we thought they had to order another half to the outside casing because it had stress fractures around the bolt holes. and the torque converter was broke.. not good i was hime sick.. did i mention we were to leave for home the day after the truck race which was saturday morning. well all in all they didnt get it fixed till late thursday and it had costed me $2442.60. not including the rental car which was another 650.00. so now we are broke and mad about the whole ordeal. so we get home and the loan company says that they will refinace the van and get us the money back. ok i thought that is good. well come to find out that there is a stipulation on the loan that i had to sign off of it and send it down to ammco in lakeland. uuhhh hello i already paid them. i just want my money back.ok so now there is nothing the loan company can do for me so i call the salesman that sold me the van and he tells me because i was just outside my 30 day warrenty that they should be able to reimburse me something. so i wait a week and call them again here becaus ei put so many miles on it there is nothing that the financial manager can do. so now i have to wait till the owner comes in and talk to him.. uuuggghhhh... i am so mad i will never buy a vehicle from a car lot again i have better luck with buying from an individual..lol.. all in all i guess i need to know what to do from there if the owner will not compansate me like they are telling me that he will because he has done that before.. ok any suggestions..
