Do you self medicate or you consult a doctor?

I learned to live away from my family when I entered college. Since then, I have to do all things and take care of myself. I stock different kinds of over the counter pills in my medicine box in case I get sick. I've got paracetamol for simple fever, ibuprofen for body pains and guaiafenesin for coughs, etc. Up to now, I still do self medications and visits the doctor during emergency and uncontrollable cases.
How about you?

If I know whats wrong and I can fix it with over the counter meds. Then I don't need to go to the doctor. So I self medicate. Much cheaper.
