Music and Meditation

I have to have background noise at night so I prefer music. See, with so many dogs and cats and the hubby snoring, I wouldn't get any sleep otherwise. Barry says I can hear an ant fart in China and wake up, lol. Truth is, I can tell you what cat is doing what and where. I'm a very light sleeper. Sometimes when I try to make him roll over he just keeps snoring whether he rolls over or not. You can't wake him unless you talk real sweet. He says he ain't gonna wake up if I am yelling at him. The cats can pounce on him, I can shove him, the dogs can bark and he still sleeps. The only thing that wakes him are the alarm clock and the warning sirens when they go off. Mind you, there is one in my front yard so you have no choice but to wake up.

Thanks for your response Lecanis. Might I inquire where you obtain some of your music. I have found a few things I really enjoy from One Spirit. There used to be a little shop here that had everything from crystals to Celtic ornaments. She had some music but has closed down. Where I reside in Alabama it's hard to find customers for such things. I have found a few things at local Pow Wows.
I am Irish and English decent. I had really always known this but found it to be factual only about 3 years ago when my birth mother found me. Sometimes it's nice to find the truth.
I have a dear friend from Ireland. I am a student of hers currently. I am learning the Celtic First Nation traditions. She is a true gem. I would so love to see Ireland some day.

I recall several years back seeing Celtic harpists on public TV. I was entranced. I would love to learn but I can just see my youngest cat getting tangled up. She is an instigator and I never know what she is planning next. Mind you, I have a great photo of her on the health rider, lol.
Anyhow, I had to go out and find some cd's of the beautiful harp music. I too love the sound of waves crashing on the shoreling, thunderstorms and I have a tin roof. The only sound I really can't deal with, there is a weather alert/storm warning siren in my front yard!!!!

OH NO!!! Not That!!! How loud and obnoxious is that?? I don't suppose that helps your mood when meditating huh? LOL.

I used to live in a house that had a tin roof, with glass all around it, and all my room mates flipped a coin for that back room to hang out with our dates...it was so relaxing and romantic on a stormy night. We'd light candles and just chillax there. I miss that on some nights.

It's very obnoxious, and if you are sleeping, argh!!!! It rattles the windows something awful too. And if it's nice out and you have a window open, my poor ears. My poor pets ears!
They put this siren up about 2 years ago. I could hear the old one just fine. I think it was put there on purpose. A young man we know was working for them at the time and he loved doing obnoxious things. When I ran into him shortly after it was put up and asked, he just laughed. He is a local police chiefs son. I would love to kick his butt, but it isn't worth it.
