I Paid Off My Loan!!!!!!!

I have been playing Animal Crossing for years (both on the DS and the GC) and I've had multiple towns. But yesterday, for the first time ever, I fully paid off my loan. I don't know why I did that, because you don't get anything for it! Haha, I just didn't feel right knowing that I owed Nook! Has anyone else ever paid off their loan? Or do you just wait for your house to get as big as it can get then stop paying?

Well, in the GCN version I completely paid it off and got a gold statue of my character for everyone to see. Then I started depositing money at the post office and I think I got all the building models that you get with it. It's been awhile since I've played it, but I spent a lot of time on that game back in the day.
