As members of any religious organizations we have to adhere to the organization's or religion's teachings or even code of ethics. However, often times the world is very contradicting to our faith or beliefs. So, how do you handle this without putting your religious beliefs and codes in vain?

i think the old adage of practice makes perfect is the best way to describe it. unlike the majority of organized religious groups, my beleif system doent list rules upon rules that ultimately cancel each other out in contradictions making it even harder to follow. i have one rule, one Law, Do No Harm. this may seem rather simplistic, but in all honesty, it isnt. "harm" falls under lots of categories, not just in physical actions and behaviors, but in thought, mind and spirit. i will get grief over my ethics and honor because i dont budge on them, and spend alot of time philosophically thinkng as to what my actions may cause to another, or myself, because harm to self is a bad thing as well. im told i think too much, simple things dont matter, blahblah im too hard on myself and others. my response? there is right and there is wrong, period. doing the right thing isnt always the easiest route, but i dont really care. honor, is all. what goes around comes around, do unto others.... how do i deal? my faith isnt just a hobby, or a weekly visit to some chapel seeking absolution. it isnt something i do.. its who i am. 24/7 all the time of every day. do i screw up? sure, im by no means perfect in any way. but i do my best to strive for it, and i dont toss my mistakes under the heading of " only human " and do whatever i can to set things right when i DO screw up. alot of what people refer to as "mistakes" arent mistakes at all, and if thought about, were freewilled CHOSEN actions. over time, the right thing becomes a habit and its like second nature. then theres no conflict =o)
