Soap suds or shaving cream/lotion

Ladies; do you buy a shaving cream or lotion or just use soap when you shave your legs and underarms?
I sometimes splure on shaving cream but often just use soap suds.
I was wondering if I am being ultra frugal or if others did the same.
Thanks for reading and responding.

To be honest, I have found the shaving creams to not work for me. I tend to use a body wash. It is softening and thick, but it does not stick to the razor and slow down the shaving. :O) I never use bar soap at all, due to very dry and sensitive skin.

Over the years I have used several different things. When I was younger I started out with using a bar of soap to shave. Then as I was working and getting independant I started buying shaving cream. I then read a story in a magazine how using cheap cream rinse will do the job just as good and at the same time you are moisturizing your skin, I switched to that. I go to the dollar store and buy the biggest bottle I can get for my buck and it will usually last me about a year or sometimes longer. I have been using cream rinse this way for the last 10 years or so and I wouldn't use anything else anymoe.

You are going to hate me, but I've never ever had to shave my legs or underarms. I'm one of those people who have been graced without hair in both areas. I don't think I've ever bought any of the products needed to shave and I am so happy about it. Don't kill me.

Shaving cream is useless for me, even when I started buying the womens stuff instead of using hubbys! Soap always just seems to clog my razor up and then I end up with stubble patches all over the place, so now I use shower gel, and that seems to be ok. A lot cheaper too!
