Do You Have Boxes Of Tissue Around Your House?

Box of tissue - I get the cheapest brand that has no aloe or lotion in them because I don't like the feeling it leaves on my skin or fingers.

I sure do. I have one in every room because I use them all the time. Every since I lived in Texas, I've had sinus problems. They say "if you don't have alergies, you will when you move here" What a nice thing to say about your home state! But I found that to be very true because I didn't have any problems what so ever till I moved there and I lived there for 10 long years! Hubby was in the army is why we lived there, not by choice. I had two surgeries on my sinus' and it helped a great deal for a while but I believe scar tissue has built up now and is why I'm having problems again. But let me tell you, I'll stick with the tissues because the surgeries hurt like hell!! I promised I'd never do it again. The second one was more extensive so it was very much more painful. My dentist told me the reason it was so painful is because the nerves in the face cross over in the middle of the face so it's like two sets of nerves screaming in pain. That's when I told him it will never happen again because it was just too much. Especially the third day, I was bent over in excruiating pain. I buy the cheapest brand and without the aloe or lotion because I don't like how it feels on my face or hands. So do you have a bunch of tissue boxes in your house like me? lol

I just restocked on my lot of tissues this evening (two boxes) one for my room and one for the lounge. I have one in our car that isn't finished. I buy the cheap kind (buy one get one free or 2 for $3). I have never had allergies before and ever since the weekend I have been sneezing and blowing my nose every so often and even have watery eyes. I think our house needs a huge spring cleaning now that winter is almost gone and hopefully that might help. Felt better today but my nose and watery eyes are still here.

This will help a great deal! - But get the equate brand at walmart, it's much cheaper than the name brand and it will not make you sleepy
There is help if you'd like to try it! I promise you it won't make you drowsy at all. I had to take it all the time when I lived in Texas until I started taking Zoloft then I couldn't take it anymore because it counteracts Zoloft. So I had to switch to Clariton but it doesn't work as well as ChlorTrimeton but the equate brand which is Chlortabs I believe. You'll know because it'll say compare to ChlorTrimeton. You'll feel so much better if you try it!

I tried Clariton too but it doesn't seem to do anything for me either. I might try the second one you mentioned. Is that over the counter medicine I can buy from any pharmacy?

It's over the counter, so it's easy to get. I love the stuff and wish I could still take it but... Such is life.

yes, but not in every room of the house. I have them in the car - in the living room - in the bedroom in the dining room and kitchen I can grab a napkin in the bathroom I can grab toilet tissue I often prefer to use a hankie during allergy seasons - the are more durable.

Hi modestah... you have tissue everywhere that I have mine. I agree, in the bathroom I can get toilet tissue. I don't use hankies but rather tissue so I can throw them away.

We normally don't keep tissues in the house. My son and my husband just use toilet paper. Every time I buy boxes I feel like they are just wasted. My Mom use to keep tissues in every room of the house. I know what you mean about Texas. When I moved there briefly after the hurricane it was like torture. We actually lived in Katy and i had no problems there, but as soon as we would go into Houston I would have migraine level sinus headache. It was horrible. There was a girl I worked with that had the same problem coincidentally she was from Louisiana as well. She had to have major surgery on her sinuses because he body could not adjust to being in Texas. From what I understand though Houston is one of the worse places to live if you have sinus problems because of poor air quality.

We lived in Killeen which was on the out skirts of Ft. Hood. When people asked where in Texas I lived, I told him Hell! LOL I hated it there so badly and had to spend so many years there. Thanks to Texas I have to have a tissue box full of tissues or I'll be getting up every half hour to get toilet tissue. I even have an empty tissue box beside the couch where I sit so I can put the used ones in there. That's goes to show you how much I use. It's so aggravating and makes me hate the state even more.

Ooh yes, tissues galore. hee hee, I just blew my nose before reading your posting. :o) I actually probably use it a wee bit too much, so used to having it (at minimum one in every room I go in, heh heh) since I'm so used to it. In the morning I have to blow my nose the most (isn't this a lovely subject?) ;o) But So sorry to hear that you are in such pain. Oh, I had started replying to you before I had even read your details (just read title). And we only buy the big boxes, that have like 216+ tissues in them. I like the...wait, let me check again....Puffs box of 216 sheets the most. And we try to stock up like crazy whenever they go on sale so we have a big supply in the house. Also we like the big size, as they are not hte little wisp kind that come out of the box one by one, but you can take a pile of them, folded neatly and stick them into your pocket for the run or ride around town. :o)

Hee hee, and I also just saw that you categorized this discussion under "Hobbies I Enjoy." Blowing our noses or collecting beautiful boxes of tissues? :o)

As we live in a tropical country, the use of tissue is very limited. But recently I replinished the tissue stock as we are going on a short vacation. I have tissue box in my dresser, in my bag (a small pack) near the counter and also in the kitchen.

Good idea because you'll never know what it's like till you get there and you just might need them. I hope you have a wonderful time!!

I have boxes of tissue in the bathrooms, and spare bedrooms, and may keep a spare box or two under the sink in my own bathroom, but that's about it. I rarely need it, but I keep a box or two around just in case.

Gosh I remember the days when I rarely needed them but since living in Texas where my alergies got so bad that my sinus' are now ruined, I have to have a box in nearly every room in the house. I use them up like a kid in a candy jar.

hi CatsandDogs. I have boxes or baggies of tissue in many places. They are always in my bag. And they are always in my room. I will bring them too whenever I am going to sit longer. I have sinus problems for about 12 years. I use medicines against alergy. And I do inhalations with olbas oil too, especially in winter, when it is season for infections. I use also sterimar - it is a spray which contains water from deep ocean. It moiustures and works like a shower for a nose. All this things make my nose work quite properly, but not ideal. I have to always keep tissue with me beacuse they are still very helpful. Since I have an alergy for such a long time, I have a habbit to put a lot of cream on the place at the bottom of nose where we usually put tissue. I do it daily, ones or more times a day. It helps me to keep my nose in good condition. It isn't red and it doesn't hurt while using tissue. have a nice day, jazgottt.

I have them in every room, all the cars and at my desk at work. I have developed sinus problems over the past few years and have tried everything to help it but to no avail. I find if I don't have a kleenex near by my nose will run!

We're a like in this respect however, I'm sure you feel the same as I do, wish we weren't! lol When I eat, my nose runs, when I work outside, my nose runs etc etc.... It's so annoying but what can a person do about it? Not a darn thing but accept it and have plenty of tissues on hand.

We sure do. Tissue boxes are everywhere around the house. In the kitchen, bedroom, lounge room, even toilet and bathroom. We are in winter now and pretty much everyone is having a cold, so it's essential around the house.
