It seems for the past few months or so, we've been hearing of horrendous weather conditions all over the US...the hurricanes, Tornadoes, and the wildfires of CA of last year, the heavy snowfalls in areas like Minnesota...Now I've been watching the news lately of the terrible flooding conditions now plaguing in many US states now due heavy, torrential non-stop rainfalls in Ohio, Missouri, Texas, Kentucky and so forth. Within minutes, many towns in Missouri and Ohio were flooded, and the only way of getting people out was by boats, that's how high the flash floods have been and are reminiscent of the scenes of the flooding during Katrina. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jW-BndswWuhgPAPXOK4Q6TCQsANQD8VHBCCO0 http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN20199753 For all you MyLotters in these areas my prayers go out to you that you are safe...If any of you ARE in these areas, have you been affected?

I will pray for all people in flooded area. Just in case, I delivered today some blankets and cloths to Red Cross collection centers. Some people will need it. We are going to have another winter storm and 6 inches of snow in Chicago...

That was really great of you to donate blankets to the Red Cross. We might even be hit by a winter storm here in NY...hopefully not 6 inches though

My thoughts not only go to the people, but wondering how their pets are surviving--I'm hoping they didn't abandon them the way so many did at Katrina

For the flood victims - Hope things are better real soon. May God hold them in his arms till they can get on their feet once again.
I've seen this on the news too and it's just awful what these people are going through. I've said a prayer on their behalf in hopes that things get better real soon.

hi pye' my prayers go out to those who may of suffered in the US because of these floods--last year in the UK we had severe flooding, hurricanes bad winds etc which ruined crops, cattle, sheep and a lot of wild life plus there were a couple of deaths and people were being taken out of their flooded houses in boats too to a place of refuge--it has happened again this year too. Fortunatley i haven't suffered because of them of which i feel blessed for, but the climate change is afecting everyone around the world and there is nothing any of us can do about it-littleowl

I feel so out of touch!!! I only hear about these things when I am in here!!! My wish right now is that I could do something to help the victims. I was able to help some of the Katrina families when I was in North Carolina because I was with the Red Cross and we served over 900 families that came from the Gulf coast. Here I can only read about it. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm not in these areas and don't personally know anyone being affected at this time but I am keeping the whole area in my prayers daily. Along with the many others being affected by the extreme conditions like you mentioned. We've had 'weird' weather even for Michigan in our area but nothing as extreme as other areas of the country.
