On Tuesday my daughter woke with a massive temperature, she was listless and slept pretty much all day. On Wednesday she still had the temperature but was a bit better (with the aid of some Calpol, Paracetomol medicine) Wednesday evening she projected vomit everywhere it was just one big stinky spray! After that within minutes she was as fit as a fiddle. I picked my 2 boys up from school Thursday afternoon, they were both fine and excited because they had finished school for 2 weeks. By the time we got home, just a ten minute walk, the older one who is 7 started complaining of tummy ache and headache and he too had a huge temperature, by 11.00 thursday night my other son who is 6 had exactly the same but he too, like my daughter, was sick! I had tummy ache all day Thursday and felt really sick and I do not feel too good on good Friday! So it looks like we have a 24 hour bug that has come to visit, right near easter too, marvelous. Has anyone elses children come down with anything? And has a special holiday time ever been ruined due to nasty illnesses or bugs?

Aww you poor souls that is awful! I do hope that you all feel much better now! My daughter had a really bad ear infection on Christmas eve and although the Calpol, antibiotics and iboprofen helped her enjoy Christmas it still isn't nice! She then took another ear infection in January and has only just started hearing properly again! xxxx

Well I am pleased to say that I am better today thank goodness! My 6yr old, Jack, though is still quite poorly with it, he always seems to get things worse than anyone else poor baby, and everyone else is now fine, thank you! I have only ever had an ear infection once, when I was in my 20s and I have never had pain like it, I never want it again either so I can only imagine what your daughter went through.

Sorry to hear about the illness of both you and your children gemini. but hopfully it's just a 24hour bug and you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your holiday. Something similar happened to me just last christmas. It was early christmas morning about 2a.m when my son had an asthma attack and had to go to the emergency room. This of course took hours. {anyone who suffers with asthma can relate.} but thankfully everything turned out fine and we were able to enjoy the rest of the day.

That is what I am hoping too, gosh asthma is the worst, I suffered with it as a child, but thankfully I grew out of it. One of my boys who is 6 suffers with something bronchial about once a year, he has to have an inhaler when he gets it and he does suffer with it. At least you could enjoy the rest of your day though, especially with it being chrismas.

Hopefully he might grow out of it, sometimes they do, like me.

Yes asthma can be tough to deal with. I'm praying for the day when we're done with the inhalers and steroids.

The first year I decidee I would have Thanksgiving dinner at my hosue I woke up with the stomache flu. I mananged to get the turkey in the oven and call my mom and tell her I was sick if they wanted dinner they would have to come up and fix the rest of it. That was a horrible holiday for me.

I have never heard of stomach flu before, it does not sound very good though, what is it? Did your mum come and do the dinner though?

There has been a couple girls at my job that their little ones have had a nasty fever no vomiting though and as you said started feeling better the next day. Then she got it but hers turned to flu like symptoms. I hope they are all better come easter morning and they can enjoy themselves. I hate for my kids to be sick. I would much rather suffer myself. Happy Easter.

I would rather be ill for them, but instead I was feeling bad too with tummy ache! They are both just lying on the chairs poor things. They should be better by easter day, if it is only lasting 24 hours they should both be ok by tomorrow, I hope! Happy Easter to you too, take care.
