i just answer a post and come up with my own question so here i am writing this, haha!
anyway, i have asked this coz i wonder how many out there can say that their looks justify their age. do you look younger or older.
i am 27, but most people think i am 15. seriously if i am to a place where ID is needed i have to show my ID coz they wont believe my real age.
when i was in college i went out with a friend and i am 20yo and we are about to watch a movie that is rated M so the ticket man wants to get my school ID and even call my school to double check coz he thinks i am 11.
i have a younger sister and people often ask her that she never mention about having a younger sister.
when i got married this lady at the registrar was so surprise coz i told him i am 27 and she thought i was kidding and i said NO so all of the people at the office sticks their eyes on me and who knows what's going on in their head.
i often mistaken to be a highschool at the bookstore, not sure if that is a great thing or something for me to be happy about coz that makes my husband look older than his real age coz i look like 13yo or something, hahaha!
i dont wear make up and sometimes i tried to wear clothes that will enhance my age but still it is not working. i used to tease him that he should give me enough problem so i can add wrinkles in my face and maybe that will help me.
we always have fun when a kid will try to get to know me and turns so red when i call him KID.
am i thankful? at times YES, sometimes i DONT.
for the reason that sometimes i feel i dont belong on that group coz they often mistaken me as a young kid.
oh well, i just cant wait till i have a kid and his playmates will ask him/her if i am his/her older sister! hahaha, that will be so hilarious!
kidding aside,
i want to know how many out there is having the same dilemma or how many out there are having issues with their age.
i'll be happy to hear from you!
takecare!

I know the feeling well. I was pretty much the same way. When I was in college, I came home for summer or Christmas or something and went to school with my youngest sister (7 years younger than me). She was trying out for band and was in the 4th grade. They thought she was only in 2nd grade but you should have seen the look on the girl's face when I told her I was 20 or something like that. Her jaw dropped to the floor!!! When she was 21, I got carded and she didn't!!! In fact, most people think I am 10 years younger than I am. When my brother got remarried, his wife thought I was 25 (I was 46 or so at that time. Enjoy it while you can. And stay in good health!!!

hahaha, that is really funny i can imagine their jaw, lol!
my sister is 7 yrs younger too and i know it bothers her that most of her friends or people we dont know referred her as the eldest. i guess that's the reason why she dont like me meeting her guy friend or bf coz she thinks he will like me or something (i said this coz her x bf once told me that my sister dont want him talking to me coz she is jealous) i told my sister she dont have a reason to feel this way and that will be the last thing i want to do to her - break her heart.
wow!
now i want to see your face, your 46 and you look 25, dang! now you make me feel good about it and more excited what i will look like when i turn 40.
btw, i keep my hair long coz it seems to add my age coz whenever i have it short it seems to give me a child look after not a teenager, hahaha
maybe i will cut my hair short when i am 40 and they will see me 25 like you do.
that will be fun!
hahaha
thanks for sharing your stories!

I used to wear my hair long. I lost it all to chemo in 2003 following surgery for ovarian cancer. For a while, I let it stay short and then I started letting it grow again. The place where I get my hair done right now doesn't think I need to get it cut so they never do. It is shoulder length now.

When I get my hair cut, I would just show them an inch or two with my fingers and they usually do ok. I don't want anything fancy, just a trim. So far, they never messed me up. They know I am a teacher and they respect that I think. But most of the time here, the lady does not think I need a haircut even when I would ask for one.

Most people except my husband thinks I look younger than sixty-five, but with all his insisting that we are now old, we will have to go into a senior citizen's home because he had a stroke, my family has a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart condition so that I may be in a walker or a wheelchair in a couple of years, it will not be long before I look older than my age.
I always looked younger, but my hair went prematurely white and I have the same face as my dad, a large round oval face that spoils it for me, but I have a good complexion.

hello suspenseful,
i hope by now your husband is feeling much better and happy despite his situation.
i am not sure what kind of health issues we have in my family, i dont think we have diabetes or any heart problem but our days now seems to give us something even though it dont run in our family.
i always want to have a better skin, my skin is great but i feel it is not as great as i want it to be LOL
you're lucky to have a good complexion and it sure helps a lot to lessen the age showing.
anyway, i hope 2 years from now you are not walking in a wheelchair or a walker as your age is still young (compared to those who really needs such thing)
you mention you feel great about yourself (i think in your discussion in the past) so just keep that insight and feelings and that will surely helps you a lot not to be in a chair in a few years.
i wish you all the best.
have a good one!

None of the women on my Mom's side of the family look their age. My Mom is...well, lets just say she isn't too far from being a senior citizen and yet she looks like she's in her late 40's. I just turned 40 and have had ppl say that I look like I'm in my early 30's. My Grandma (Mom's mom) is 79 and looks in her early 60's. On my Dad's side the women age more. I have a half sister that is about 7 years younger than me that looks about 10 years older than me although that could be b/c she lays in a tanning bed all the time and her skin is leathered.

hello twoey68,
you must be very happy knowing that your mom's genes dwells in you LOL
people always tell me that i should be happy that i should i look younger and that i will be grateful once i reach the age of 40.
i honestly looking forward to be on that age just to see and be matured.
i feel matured at heart just not my look.
anyway, that is good that you know both sides of your family.
i have a step siblings too, i dont know what they look like but i am told that they look older than me and even my sister who looks 10 years older than me (i am 7 years older than her)
anyway, great for you.
wish you all the best.

I looked at a picture of you on your profile and I'd guess you to be in your early 20's...
My Moms side of the family all tend to look younger than they are. Nobody guesses I'm really the age I am but then they never believe that my Mom is her age either. We're both old enough though that even looking younger than we are we are still obviously over 21 so we don't get carded LOL

People where never able to guess my age when I was a teenager and I use to get mad, obviously because I wanted to appear older. Now I'm about to be 25 years and people think that I am 19 or 20 years (now it feels good to look young) The older your age number gets the happier you will feel when people think that you are younger. Just let time passed by then you will enjoy this kind of situations.

i think at some point it is pretty much enjoyable coz people thinks that you look 10yrs younger than your age, but sometimes i wish i look like what my age is coz i have to meet other people that have this idea in their mind (before they met me) that this is what your wife looks like and when i finally meet them they have this OBVIOUS shocking looks in their face and at times i dont know if i will laugh or i will be irritated. my man seems to be really proud of it but i told him that it bothers me sometimes coz i hate being questioned or being look at.
also, i dont like to carry purses so if they ask for my ID i often dont have it at hand so i have to go back to the car and be back to the line and it just takes so much time to prove such thing.
i know part of it (ok majority of it) is my fault coz i should always have my ID with me but i guess i am just too lazy.
but you're right, let time pass by and maybe once i have a kid i will look older and then i will complain that i want to look younger.
but i am excited either way coz i feel like i am a kid looking forward to go older and be proud to say , hi im 40 now, haha!
thanks for dropping by!
takecare
